I just received an update from Utah on Snow Leopard Support. LANDesk Management Suite and Security Suite versions 8.9 and 9.0 now support OS X 10.6. I’ll copy the official bulletin here:
LANDesk®Management Suite and LANDesk®Security Suite (versions 8.8 and 9) now support the Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Apple is a strategic partner and LANDesk has been supporting the Macintosh platform since 1996. Our dedicated in-house Mac team worked to accelerate the support for Snow Leopard.Customers using Mac OS X 10.6 can now use LDMS/LDSS to:
- Deploy the agent to manage the Macintosh platform
- Deploy software, target the right software package for each user and even distribute large packages to multiple users with minimal server resources and network bandwidth
- Gather inventory information to help IT make decisions about their environments
- Manage software licenses to reduce costs and avoid costly penalties during an audit
- Support the Management Gateway for complete anytime, anywhere management access to users outside the corporate firewall and at geographically distributed sites
- Use Remote Control for rapid response to user requests and active maintenance on remote systems
- Automatically patch operating systems and applications to minimize vulnerabilities and reduce the risk of targeted attacks
Our multi-platform support now includes Windows, Macintosh and some Linux operating systems. |
