HP Helps Healthcare Providers Transfer your Medical Records

My problem: Timely health records sharing

I live in Idaho, but I recently had the “opportunity” to be hospitalized in California. Upon discharge, they would not give me my x-rays and emergency room records for 7 business days. Not wanting to sit in their waiting room for 7 days, (my wallet was lost at the accident scene, so I had no ID, no credit cards, and no money; so therefore nowhere to go, but that’s another story entirely) I came back to Idaho and my doctor here called and requested that the California hospital mail and fax the records. A week or so later they arrived. Plus, because of the extent and variety of my injuries, more than one doctor has asked to see these records. Is there a better way to transfer patient records among healthcare providers? Some providers have adopted the Electronic Healthcare Records (EHR) practice in their offices, and now HP has stepped up to make it even easier.

Experts agree that a key area of decreasing costs in healthcare is the implementation of Electronic Medical Records Systems (EMR).   An electronic medical record is usually a computerized legal medical record created in an organization that delivers care, such as a hospital and doctor’s surgery. Electronic medical records tend to be a part of a local stand-alone health information system that allows storage, retrieval and manipulation of records.

Get gas with Genuine HP Printing Supplies

We all love getting something extra – especially if it’s FREE
My wife and I went to dinner the other night, the restaurant had a neat deal going on – buy an entrée, get an appetizer or desert free. Pretty cool. We went there because we like the high quality of the food and service – it’s a good value. Getting a free order of Buffalo Wings and a Chocolate Mud Slide Pie was sweet!

Trade in clunker printers for $$$

Cash for clunkers? Even better.

How could you turn this deal down? You have several old cars, the oldest broke down a few months back but it’ll actually cost you time and money to haul it off and recycle it properly. So you still have it in your driveway. Even your daily driver is less than perfect. It’s only a few years old and it gets you where you’re going; but it guzzles gas, has no ABS, it’s only a 2 door and you need more room, and the service costs and insurance rates are high. You really need to cut ongoing costs, and buy more efficient and productive vehicles, but money is tight.

When a tough winter is approaching, smart homeowners begin planning on how to save utility costs. They’re often willing to pay some upfront costs in order to save on their utility bill. They might buy new logs for their gas or propane fireplace, or they might pay to have a gas line added to their homes. Hewlett Packard seeks a similar way to save businesses: but instead of adding a gas line, it adds a top-notch, integrated network system that allows you to save a bundle on computers, cables, and services. Green IT is all in the hardware, right? Not anymore, it isn’t.

Hewlett-Packard just began its Power to Change campaign, an initiative designed to promote sustainable energy practices among computer users across the entire country. As part of the effort, HP has released on the campaign’s website a gadget that can reportedly reduce the energy used by your computer by up to .646 kilowatt hours every day. Taking a step back and viewing energy savings over the long term, one could see a major reduction in the carbon footprint of any frequently used PC. Other companies have launched similar gadgets and widgets, encouraging consumers and professionals alike to power down their PCs when not in use.
